When I was shooting along Miami Beach for the Ultimate Guide to Miami Beach, Poolside in February, a few properties really stood out. Since it’s apparent I have a natural attraction to street art, it’s no surprise Miami’s Sagamore, the Art Hotel was one of them.
Aside from having a unique feature in the only zero-entry poolside along the beach, the Sagamore has a rotating contemporary art collection featured prominently in the lobby, and the interior back stairwell is completely muraled by local artists.
Room options include a 16 two-story oceanside garden bungalows out back and eight rooftop penthouses, including a three-bedroom suite with it’s own private oceanfront sundeck! The vibe throughout is warm, welcoming and contemporary without the overly assertive scream for “luxury” that so many nearby properties hang tight to.
The Sagamore speaks for itself.
^This last piece at the bottom of the stairwell was painted by a homeless man native to the area. For $300 and accommodations while he was commissioning the piece, he worked with the Sagamore to record the true voice of the community.
My favorite Sagamore image is the “call your image to mind” neon sign over the interior lobby entrance.
Which is yours?
Many thanks to Kevin Waldstein and the Sagamore on-site team for your support in the creation of this post!
